Bengaluru-based EV startup Simple Energy will commercially launch the much anticipated Simple ONE electric scooter by the end of April 2023 according to sources close to the development. The scooter was first unveiled in 2021 and was launched in the same year at Rs 1.09 lakh (ex-showroom). After the commercial launch, it is expected that the electric scooter will witness a price hike.
The company has plans to start the deliveries in a phased manner starting with Banglore and other cities will follow in the coming months. The scooter will be manufactured at the newly inaugurated Simple Vision 1.0 plant in Tamil Nadu. Customers who previously booked the electric scooter are eagerly waiting for their deliveries. However, the company could not deliver the scooters in timeline due to supply chain disruptions, and adhering to the revised vehicle and component guidelines to ensure that the production model for commercial launch is free of errors.

As mentioned previously, the scooter will witness a price hike. The Simple one electric scooter is priced at Rs 1.09 lakh for the standard variant. The one with the removable battery is priced at Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom). Expect a hike of a few thousand in the aforementioned prices, more will be known during the launch. Talking about the Simple One electric scooter, the EV is powered by a 4.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack with a claimed range of 236 km on one full charge. The one with the swappable battery pack boosts the range of up to 300 Km.
The battery pack is paired with an 8.5 kW electric motor which produces 11 bhp of power and 72 Nm of torque. In terms of features, the scooter gets LED headlamps with tail maps, a 7-inch touchscreen instrument cluster with 4G connectivity, Bluetooth connectivity for music and calls, onboard navigation system, different ride modes and many more. Colour options include - Azzure Blue, Brazen Black, Grace White and Namma Red.
